Our restaurant is a very traditional southern Italian jewel nestled in the heart of River Heights and after 28 years of serving our patrons, we have marked our own history in the thriving Winnipeg community. In 2008, The Consumer's Choice Award recognized that we are the best Italian Restaurant in the city. What makes us so special? We are a family run restaurant... Joe and Alfina Grande, the proprietors, wish for you to experience an Italian meal as if they were entertaining you in their own home. Daughters Giuliana, Elena and Angelina will greet you at the door. Cousin Chef Angelo prepares your authentic meal. Uncle Franco ensures you taste the finest wines. Mamma Angelina makes our mouth watering desserts. Sister Marilena organizes your special events. When you dine at Mona Lisa Ristorante Italiano, you are dining with family. Our Food... We make everything in-house. We pride ourselves in our homemade southern Italian cuisine and specialize in pastas, sauces and Calabrese sausages. Our pizza is "a work of art". We have gelati with many flavour options for the whole family and gluten free pasta and pizza for those patrons with special dietary needs. We are a culture... We run a Bocce League with over twenty teams. On Tuesdays, we host the Howard Manshein Night where a diversity of local talent is featured and promoted. Our dining room is a Dining Galleria where local art work is displayed and sold. We have one of the largest patios in the city.
